چکیده

Background: In Algeria, little focus was placed on camels as hosts of tick-borne bacterial diseases. Recent studies showed a high prevalence tick infestation in dromedaries. Transmission various pathogenic micro organisms to by ticks imposes considerable economic losses livestock and greatly impact human animal health. The aim our study investigate the occurrence vector-borne zoonotic bacteria from Algeria.
Methodology: Blood samples were collected 80 randomly selected Laghouat province, southern Algeria. screened for Anaplasma spp, Bartonella Rickettsia spp Coxiella burnetii qPCR. All positive confirmed standard PCR followed sequencing. Data age, sex, location analyzed using SPSS version 17.0 association these with pathogens determined Chi-square (χ2) test. P value lower than 0.05 wasconsidered indicative significance.
Results: Twenty five (31.3%) at least one pathogen phagocytophilum (22.5%, 18/80) being most prevalent species, platys (7.5%, 6/80) dromedarii (2.5%, 2/80). Only camel co-infected two pathogens. tested negative burnetii. None factors (age, sites) significantly associated (p>0.05).
Conclusion: present is first report anaplasmosis bartonellosis "Camelus dromedaries" Our results highlighted need further investigations tickborne camels.

Molecular Detection of Novel Genetic Variants Associated to Anaplasma ovis among Dromedary Camels in Iran

To the best of our knowledge, little information is available regarding the presence of Anaplasma species in camels in Iran. This study sought to investigate the presence of Anaplasma species by microscopy and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays in 100 healthy dromedaries (Camelus dromedarius) arriving for slaughter. The microscopic examination of Giemsa-stained blood films revealed that Ana...

Artificial insemination in dromedary camels.

Artificial insemination (AI) is an important technique in all domestic species to ensure rapid genetic progress. The use of AI has been reported in camelids although insemination trials are rare. This could be because of the difficulties involved in collecting as well as handling the semen due to the gelatinous nature of the seminal plasma. In addition, as all camelids are induced ovulators, th...

molecular detection of common bacterial pathogens causing meningitis

background: the clinical diagnosis of meningitis is crucial, particularly in children. the early diagnosis and empiric antibiotic treatments have led to a reduction in morbidity and mortality rates. pcr and the enzymatic digestion of 16srdna fragment which is produced by universal primers led up fast and sensitive determination. the purpose of this study was to investigate a rapid method fo...
